24th May 2008
Windsurfing: Blithfield
Wind Direction: NE
Wind Stength: 20 - 35 mph
Surf / Sea State: Flat
Air Temperature: 16
Sea Temperature: Cold
Weather: Sunny
Max Speed: 22.8 (knots - unless stated otherwise)
Distance Covered:

Off-shore wind gave vicious gusts, but flat water inshore. The strength of the gusts and the instant changes in wind speed made it difficult to relax and two short sessions (plus the rescue using the safety boat of two sailors who had blown downwind) was enough. Had some fast blasts and fast gybes, but in the gusts found it difficult to keep the board carving round as even my whole weight on the rail was not enough - board probably too big for the conditions. This led to some hard crashes mid gybe.

Despite the difficult conditions, the high speed blasts and a few fast planing gybes in the warm sunshine made it a good session. Gusts may have been more mellow further downwind, but the chop was really buiding up and it would have been a slog getting back in.
